Hi Hive friends welcome to my Blog yelimarin@yelimarin, I hope you are having a great weekend, today I want to contribute my personal experience to the topic addressed by our friend emiliorios@emiliorios about learning to say "no" as a life strategy.
Throughout life I have considered myself a helpful person, always ready to help and serve whoever of me needs it, but sometimes trying to be good puts us in a position of being laughed at by the people we trust.
You see, years ago I started a cake venture, I sold candy and birthday cakes and by ration, I was doing well with what I produced and I worked from home. Besides, baking is something I like and I even thought of setting up my own store.

One day a girl who came to my house, a friend of my son's, ordered me a cake that was supposedly for the principal of her high school, I trusted the girl because she was very close to my house and I constantly served her and gave her the cake. She assured me that the payment had been made via mobile payment, because she was present and even gave me the supposed confirmation code.
Pending an order for three more birthday cakes that I had to sell to a neighbor, also very close to my house, to whom I constantly served, I got distracted and I started to fulfill the order, my capital was little and I had to sell to be able to buy.
So I hurried to get the order, I delivered it to my neighbor and he gave me a mobile payment code where the payment was done. Confident, because I had no internet, I went to the store to make more purchases, because I had other orders, to my surprise when I went to pay my bill I had no money.

I was worried, I felt depressed, deceived and for two people whom I supported in difficult times, I came and looked for them, in the case of the girl, her mother told me not to charge her daughter, to go to the school principal that she was the one who owed me.
I went to the principal and it was what I was afraid of, the principal never sent me to do any errands. This girl just made fun of me, and preferred to lose my friendship rather than pay me.
In the case of my supposed friend, he told me flatly that he had done it, then that it was the bank's mistake, then he gave me a bad check, then a bad bill, and so on, until I lost the clients I had and my small business collapsed because I had no way to pay them.

Then they wanted to come again to ask me for favors and borrow money, even though they knew they had ruined my business, and I firmly said no. It was no longer a question of being a good person or not, but of being fair and not letting them trick me again. It was no longer a matter of whether or not I was a good person, but of being fair and not letting them trick me again. This has made me learn to say no to many people who come to me to borrow things or money and then prefer to stop talking to me before paying me back and forget the favors I have done for them.
Before this, I have used the word NO, when they are things that they can easily solve, but they get used to the easiness and to have others solve their lives for them. I have learned to say NO to people who see me and do not greet me in the street and when they are in need they come to my door.
I have learned to say NO to people that I see one weekend spending on liquor and vices and then they come to me asking for cooking spices. I've learned not to be as giving as I was at the beginning, I help as much as I can, but I have distanced myself from people who do not add up to me and who are a living example of interested people who only seek to take advantage of others, who feel that it is your obligation to serve them.
