Hi guys! I hope you are very well, at this moment I wanted to share with you a series of drawings, specifically a graphic synthesis in which I have taken as model the famous actress Lucy Hale.
What is a graphic synthesis? The synthesis in graphic design is achieved when we simplify an original shape with different types of lines, flat shapes, geometric shapes, etc. to a minimum expression, eliminating the details as much as possible but keeping its essence recognizable. The objective of the graphic synthesis, as it is known by its original name, occurs when we manage to communicate a concept clearly and precisely. Each method used to simplify produces a different visual effect although the general contour of it remains. I will explain them in each image the applied synthesis.
Why did I choose her? Well mainly because she is one of the actresses who participate in one of my favorite television shows Pretty Little Liars, maybe you have heard of it. That series represented all my adolescence, I began to see it in my first year of secondary school, I saw it week after week with a friend and it was very exciting to be able to share our theories together. This series had many seasons and it was not until last year that it finally ended in its 7th season, so you can imagine the years that I was hooked.
So here I leave my Graphic Synthesis, I hope you like it.
This process consists of capturing the greatest details of lines that exist in the figure
It comes to be the route of the line that will enclose the figure and turn it into a single plane that is the shape of the figure, also called contour.
In this synthesis lights and shadows are specially adapted to give it a volume effect, creating the sensation of a stylized image.
The continuous surface figure can have details using negative lines (white lines on a black background), both internal and external details must be saved
The figure undergoes a decomposition in segments of cut planes, as if they were pieces of the same shape, it can be used both organic and rectilinear
