'Structures' Kailasa Temple

Kailasa Temple, Elora Caves, India

On my last trip to India I visited the mysterious Ellora Caves. Amongst them the Kailasa Temple, a megalith carved out of a single rock. It's majestic appearance intrigues the mind and one wonders how this was accomplished so long ago. We often underestimate the ancient world and their technological abilities. The Kailasa Temple is believed to be largest monolithic structure in the world.

Auf meiner letzten Indienreise besuchte ich die mysteriösen Höhlen von Ellora. Darunter war der Kailasa Tempel. Ein Megalith der aus einem einzigen Felsen gemeisselt wurde. Der majestätische Anblick verblüfft und lässt wundern wie so etwas vor so langer Zeit vollendet wurde. Oftmals unterschätzen wir die antike Welt und zu was sie technologisch fähig waren. Der Kailasa Tempel wird als die grösste monolithische Struktur der Welt eingeschätzt.
