"Is that a gold ring?" my friend asked as she noticed my hand.
I looked down and smiled. "No," I replied. "It's actually a finger rosary."
She came closer to look at it and admitted that, at first glance, it really did look like a gold ring. She even joked that she thought someone had secretly proposed to me.
We both laughed, but I explained why I wear it. As a child born into a christian home, not just a Christian home but a Catholic home ,We always wear our medal and finger rosary,Some people see it as fashion but to us whom are Catholics we Know that our medal and finger rosary strengthes us. To me, it's more than an accessory. It's a small reminder to pray wherever I am. Whenever I glance at it, I'm reminded that God is always with me, even in the busiest moments of the day.
That conversation made me realize how easily people can mistake appearance for purpose. What looked like a piece of jewelry was actually something that strengthens my faith.
So no, it wasn't a gold ring. It was my finger rosary.....a simple reminder to stay connected to God every single day.
Sometimes, the things that seem ordinary carry the deepest meaning.
