How To Make Homemade Pizza (in less than an hour) -- step by step pictures
What can we do, under lockdown, besides eat?
Pizza is a big favorite at our household & not too long ago, my wife learned to make it (I’m her sous chef).
Like any work of art, every time it turns out, differently.
Step one, preheat oven to 410 degrees & let store bought dough get to room temperature (around 20 min).
Now, prep your ingredients —- use whatever toppings you’ve got/like. We've used garlic, onions, olives, peppers, spinach, kale, broccoli, zucchini & pepperoni, or a little left over turkey.
Once the dough is ready to work with, my wife puts flour on a plate & stretches dough into shape of a pizza — we’ve also made calzones, in the past.
Now, slather store bought tomato sauce where we’ve added freshly minced garlic for extra pizzaz.
For toppings to cook well & get that yummy roasted veggies taste I drizzle lots of olive oil & we spice to taste, simply, with oregano & pepper.
Also, the toppings don't have to be the same throughout the pizza. For example, my wife has simple tastes, while I'm a glutton. So, our pizza tends to look schizophrenic with one side piled up with stuff.
Last but, certainly, not least, sprinkle cheese. Typically, we use Parmesan, but have also used mozzarella, Mexican mix, or whatever is around, really.
Now, pop in the oven & drool while you wait for 15 minutes or so (depending on the size & toppings) checking in on it, periodically.
Bon Appetit!
