Alex the cunning and a passer-by
Once upon a time, a poor passer-by was walking in the street in a late hour of night when he stopped in front of Alex's house in order to seek help. The old passer-by knocked the door of Alex's home. Then, Alex looked out the window and shouted at the old man " What do you want ? ". The passer-by answered him and said he wanted Alex to go downstairs because he wanted him in a serious matter. Alex accepted the man's request. Once Alex reached out to the passer-by, he asked why this last came in a late hour of night and wanted him to go downstairs instead of staying in the balcony. The man asked Alex to give him anything from what God gave him. Alex looked sharp at the old man, then he asked this last to wait him few minutes. After Alex went upstairs and reached the balcony, he invited the passer-by to get in the house and then go to the balcony. The passer-by did excatly what Alex told him and was waiting for a surprise. However, Alex whispered in the man's ear and said : "God gives you!".The poor man wondered and said "Why did you tell me to go upstairs since you won't give me anything?". Then Alex smiled and replied : "And why did you get me down from the balcony instead of letting me go down on my own?"
