"Xtian doesn't care, he won't call when he arrives his destination" were my mother's words to my cousin sister when I traveled sometime last year. I could stay weeks without calling home, not that I didn't love my family; touch them and watch me burn you.
I'm a very smart person but attachment hasn't been my forte. I've had troubles keeping up with relationships as I tend to lose interest over time. I see a girl I like, I'm the social kind, I walk up to her, we chat, exchange contacts and in a week, she feels she's found Mr Right as she has 'the best week of her life'.
It goes on for like a month and I subconsciously start withdrawing from her.
I used to think I had a problem, I tried to work on myself but it wasn't working. I tried until I read on a journal, how emotional quotient was inversely proportional to intelligence quotient. I've studied wide about this issue and that happens to just be the way things have to be. I've stopped trying. I think I belong by my own side.
Now I make it a choice to show affection to the people I should, when I do; not because of what I feel towards them but because it's what I owe them by logic.
