Here is my entry for the #monomad contest by @brumest and

Moving from one place to another is something we do every day, without even realizing it. It doesn’t have to be a long trip to be considered a journey; in theory, it simply involves changing our location—from where we are to where we’ll end up.
The only thing humanity has not yet been able to achieve is traveling without spending time between the two points.
To travel, we simply have to be in one place and realize that we’re heading to another location, another latitude.
But do we really need to travel physically to change locations? Or do we actually have the ability to travel without even leaving home… letting ourselves be carried away by our imagination and our minds?
I’d venture to say that many of the best and most interesting journeys I’ve ever taken were the ones I took in my mind. I don’t know how long it took me to set out, or when I decided to leave. I don’t know how long it took me to arrive, or which paths I took, or which ones I dreamed of… I don’t even know how long that journey took me, or how long I spent thinking about it. And I don’t even know if the destination I reached is one I would ever consider traveling to, or if I simply arrived there through the simple process of letting my mind wander.
To disconnect from reality and connect with ourselves. That is the only condition for taking the most fantastic journeys of our lives. And no matter how often we embark on this journey, no matter how often we take on this challenge, we rarely recognize the paths, routes, or destinations.
I’m sharing with you not a mental journey, but a trip I took between two islands in the Madeira Archipelago. I’m talking about a trip I took between the island of Madeira and the island of Porto Santo.
It’s good to leave where we are and take on the challenge of moving somewhere else, even knowing that we won’t always reach our destination, but always keeping in mind the desire to set out
