Day 4 of the Harry Potter Lego Christmas Advent Calendar (HPLCAC (tm)) is here and, with it, the micro builds move on to the second book: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Today's build is the Whomping Willow!
Lego microbuilds can be simple or, in this case, surprisingly difficult to fit together. The first issue I ran into was that I had to spend longer than normal deciphering the instructions for the "proper" build. The second issue, upon realising what I was looking at, was that the numerous small pieces kept falling off when I was attempting to put other small pieces onto further small pieces. The result, however, was pretty fantastic, and is in keeping with what Lego is really great at: a surprising level of detail made from bricks.
That's a pretty impressive Whomping Willow! And all in a few bricks. Even more impressive is the car! It's total composition is three pieces: two bricks and a set of wheels:
Three pieces and it portrays precisely what it is intended to portray. Brilliant!
