Saludos hivers. La temporada de lluvia ya empezó, las lluvias y el cielo nublado han ido apoderándose del paisaje, sobretodo en horas de la tarde, con el invierno tropical, no solamente llega el agua para el alivio de todas las plantas y animales, entre muchos otros beneficios para la naturaleza, sino que también, se produce uno de los fenómenos ópticos más llamativos y hermosos, el arcoíris 🌈. Y es por eso que hoy les traigo una compilación de fotos que le he hecho al arcoiris en diferentes momentos. >Hello hivers. With the tropical winter comes not only water to relieve all the plants and animals, among many other benefits for nature, but it also appears one of the most striking and beautiful optical phenomena, the rainbow 🌈. Esas gotas de agua no sólo refractan la luz del sol, sino que también la reflejan, y es en ese momento cuando aparecen los siete colores del espectro: rojo, anaranjado, amarillo, verde, azul, añil o índigo y el violeta o morado. El orden en el cual aparecen los colores es siempre el mismo, siendo el rojo el que queda hacia la parte superior. Para que se produzca un arcoíris no solamente es necesaria la presencia de luz solar y agua, también hay otros factores que influyen, como por ejemplo que no debe haber viento que disperse las gotas de agua, y que la lluvia sea suave. >A rainbow is simply the result of the interaction between sunlight and tiny water droplets suspended in the atmosphere after the rain. These water droplets not only refract sunlight but also reflect it, and it's at this moment that the seven colors of the spectrum appear, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. The order in which the colors appear is always the same, with red at the top. Como habrán podido observar, la mayoría de los arcoíris que he fotografiado son dobles, no es que eso sea algo diferente, en realidad, todos los arcoíris tienen dos aros, primario y secundario, lo que pasa es que no siempre pueden ser apreciados ya que eso depende de ciertas condiciones que permiten que se pueda ver claramente esta ilusión óptica que es el arcoíris. >The size of the water droplets in the atmosphere also influences this optical phenomenon. The larger the droplets, the greater the intensity of the colors and the clearer the rainbow will be. When the droplets are small, the rainbow appears dull and the colors aren't very well defined. As you may have noticed, most of the rainbows I've photographed are double rainbows. This isn't anything unusual, in fact, all rainbows have two rings, a primary and a secondary. Cuando ambos arcoíris están visibles, el color del cielo en el espacio entre ellos tiene un color más oscuro y se le conoce como franja de Alejandro en honor al filósofo griego Alejandro de Afrodisías, quien fue el primero en estudiar este fenómeno. >One of the unique features of a double rainbow is that the order of the colors is not the same. Hay muchas historias, leyendas y supersticiones relacionadas al arcoíris, una de ellas dice que al final del arcoíris hay una gran olla con monedas de oro custodiada por un duende, debe ser realmente increíble llegar a ese punto, sobretodo cuando según la ciencia, el arcoíris es un círculo, lo que significa que no tiene principio ni final 🥴😕 jajaja, entre las superstición más común que he escuchado es que uno no debe señalar el arcoíris con el dedo porque eso da mala suerte, soy un poquito supersticiosa así que desde que escuché eso ya no señalo el arcoíris jajaja. >There are many stories, legends, and superstitions related to rainbows. One of them says that at the end of the rainbow there's a big pot of gold coins guarded by a leprechaun. It must be truly incredible to reach that point, especially when, according to science, the rainbow is a circle, meaning it has no beginning or end 🥴😕 hahaha. Among the most common superstitions I've heard is that you shouldn't point at the rainbow because it brings bad luck. I'm a little superstitious, so since I heard that, I don't point at rainbows anymore hahaha. La duración de un arcoíris es relativamente corta, sin embargo, en el año 1994 se registró un arcoíris en Inglaterra que duró desde las 9 de la mañana hasta las 3 de la tarde 😲, ¡seis horas!, toda una rareza.
