Hello everyone! This is @ybanezkim26 and I'll present today's edition of Travel Digest. In our featured posts, we have a desert in Purmamarca, Argentina, an incense village of Quang Phu Cau, Vietnam, and a gateway in Campeche, Mexico. Enjoy and keep on pinning your travel posts to the map!
I recently shared the story of our crossing of the Jama Pass with our friend David, a powerful moment that took us from one side of the Andes to the other — quite literally from Chile to Argentina. Chile and Argentina share one of the longest land borders in the world: around 5,300 km, almost entirely defined by the imposing presence of the Andes. Jama is one of the northernmost border posts, but there are more than forty others, all spectacular because each one involves crossing the mountain range. Truthfully, one should travel following a kind of north–south sinusoidal line, hopping from one country to the other via the passes, as each offers a unique landscape.

When I arrived at the incense village, I expected to find something a little more touristy, larger in structure, more prepared to receive foreigners. In other words, I expected a café where I could rest and use the restroom, something like that, but I went at 1:00 p.m., so I guess if there was anything like that, it was closed. I only found a couple of large stalls selling incense and also manufacturing it. They were open for taking photos and shopping, and one of them had a small café where, luckily for me, I was able to use the bathroom (this can be a very particular issue when traveling in unfamiliar areas without adequate infrastructure for visitors).

On that day, a friend drove me into the city of Campeche. My friend’s daughter attends a children’s theater group, and if I remember correctly, that day was a rehearsal for a performance. After dropping her off at the theater, we had some free time during her practice, so we decided to do a bit of sightseeing in Campeche.
