Hello everyone, @glecerioberto here, and welcome to today's #TravelDigest! Despite the outage in certain parts of the internet, we are still bringing you this TD. What I really love about the school of ceramics in Sicily is that it's not only about seating behind the potters wheel for a couple of weeks, but it's also about getting to know the culture and spending time together as a group. Last year, we went to Segesta and I was expecting the same this year as the rest of the program was more less the same, so I was surprised when our driver took us to Selinunte.
But the sun was still out and it was early autumn , just cool enough to enjoy a long ride. So I grabbed my phone, opened Google Maps and started looking for somewhere to go. That is when I saw the name: MALLEVAL. To be honest never heard of it but something about it caught my eye. It was only 8 km away. That was all the excuse I needed.
I know I’m always saying that the day I’m talking about was the most special day of the trip, but I’m starting to realise that every single one of them truly was, because each day had something different that made this journey so wonderful. Today I’m going to talk about when we arrived in Sigiriya, to the famous Lion Rock. But before that, I have to mention the small mountain right in front of it, the one we climbed first, because people had recommended doing that hike beforehand. From there, the view of Sigiriya was stunning, and honestly, it was completely worth it.
