馃 El Escorial and the Valley of the Fallen - What I Saw, Felt and Thought by
@veramenWe visited this monastery to delve into what life was like in the Middle Ages, what they did and what it meant to live in a monastery as a Habsburg king. You can reach El Escorial from Madrid by suburban train or as we did, by car. The journey takes about an hour. Along the way, it鈥檚 worth stopping at an important site from modern Spanish history, the Valley of the Fallen. This monument complex was constructed in 1940 by dictator Francisco Franco to symbolize the end of the civil war and reconciliation between the opposing sides. It is the burial site for 33.700 soldiers and Franco himself was interred here in 1975 per his will, though his remains were later moved elsewhere.

馃 A Walk Along Jomtien Beach by
@blaze8This beach is one of our favorites. However, what we saw today was a bit disappointing. Most of the beach was covered with sun loungers and umbrellas, which took away from its natural beauty. We used to love this beach more for its natural charm, especially the palm trees and the feeling of being close to nature. There was a small section without loungers, but it was crowded, with people almost piling on top of one another. In contrast the areas with loungers were mostly empty, likely because people didn鈥檛 want to pay 100 Baht.

馃 Roman Colosseum by
@sniki003The first building that comes to mind when you hear Rome is the Colosseum. I think it is one of the most iconic buildings in the world and we can often see this incredible building in various films. Of course we had to go and visit it in person. It would be pointless to be in Rome without visiting the Colosseum. It is much bigger and more beautiful in person, it will take your breath away and you will forget everything as soon as you step inside the Colosseum. Rome is worth going to just for the Colosseum, but believe me, you won鈥檛 know what else to see and visit there. This city left a very strong impression on me, and I believe it will on you too.
