Hello everyone! This is @ybanezkim26 and I'll be presenting today's edition of Travel Digest. In our featured posts, we have a castle in Monsanto, Portugal, a pagoda in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. Enjoy and keep on pinning your travel posts to the map!
Monsanto Castle, located at the top of the rocky hill, is a historical and cultural landmark in Portugal, which offers us a stunning view of the landscape that surrounds us. Its construction dates back to the medieval period, initially being built in the 12th century, during the reign of D. Afonso Henriques, the first king of Portugal. This castle was a crucial fortress in the defense of the territory against the invasions of the Moors and later during the border disputes with the Kingdom of León.

The temple was founded in 1963 but the construction wasn't finished because the Communists captured the city in 1975 and stopped the project. The construction resumed only in 1993, and that's when a 7-story stupa appeared at the place. Even more activity began in 2014 and ended up with the erection of a new stupa with 13 floors at the end of 2018.

Another trip, and another unique and extraordinary new travel experience. This time we travel back in time, far away, to the cradle of Western civilization, from which we have been nourished by great philosophers, playwrights, architects, sculptors, politicians and warriors. It is Greece, also the origin of the Olympic Games, which we continue to celebrate.
