Angela spent an extra time at work. She had started putting the right energy and things started working for her good. She got a promotion at work and that was the best thing ever. All she wanted to do was go home, take her work clothes off and have a cold shower because she deserved it.
She walked majestically out of the company and headed for the garage. Got into her new car, the one she was gifted on the day of her promotion by the company. She reversed and zoomed off.
On the road, she was thinking. Many people were vying for the position she just got but the company gave it to her. Why did they? Was there something she was doing extremely well or her grace was just automatic?.
Her car started indicating that there was no fuel.
"This can't be happening! I had filled my fuel tank this morning before work" she said.
In a means to hurry home without the car disappointing her, she took the shortcut which was a dark and lonely road. She never liked driving on that road at night and today was like a bad day to drive on that road but she decided to give it a try.
The car screeched at a corner and she drove into the road. She kept praying that the road wouldn't disappoint her.
Flicker flicker
Someone was flickering the light directly in her eyes. For once she thought the person was just a lost soul trying to signal for help but the light stopped flickering and became very direct.
She couldn't see the road clearly anymore and didn't know which way to go. She decided to pull up by the road side so she could give the stranger a piece of her mind. As she drove sidewards, she immediately ran into a tree. She hit her head on the steering and the airbag followed suit . She was unconscious.
The next time Angela woke up, she was at the hospital with her legs bandaged and tied up, her head so bandaged and some other knife cuts on her body.
Her twin sister, Angelina, was in the hospital with her as she was notified the previous night. As Angela opened her eyes, Angelina's smile touched her ears as she was happy that her sister was still alive.
"Why do I have so many knife wounds on my body?" Angela asked.
" I was waiting eagerly to ask you the same question. I got here as soon as the hospital called to see you in a wonky state" Angelina replied.
" The last thing I remember was the fact that someone was pointing light into my eyes and as I wanted to pull over, I ran into a tree. I was in my car all this while so how did I get so many injuries?" Angela asked amidst tears.
"I don't know who would be so wicked. The good thing is that you're safe but the doctor said you would remain this way for about three weeks." Angelica said
"Three weeks! How is that even possible? I'm a working class citizen. I just got a promotion which could be ripped off anytime if I don't do what I'm supposed to do at the right time. Why three weeks lurd!" Angela sulked.
" Don't worry. It seems you're forgetting something. We're identical and I could stand in for you. I'd work for you but you have to put me through all the processes" Angelina said.
" Oh Angelina, you're an angel. Thank you very much." Angela said.
" You're welcome. Now what we should focus on is who did this to you. I'd find that out in the course of working there because the person or people that did this would be greatly mesmerised to see you at work the next day. Just relax, your angel has got this under control."
" I'd put you through the necessary process and procedures. We're definitely going to find my attempted murderer." Angels said
They both gave evil grins as they were very confident about what they were doing.
