Last month my two sisters and niece made a trip to Italy to visit my family in Empoli. They spent 21 days looking through photo albums and visiting the beautiful cities in Tuscany. This morning I woke up to these photos from my cousin of the flooding in the city's center.
They were supposed to receive more rain in the evening, but I never heard from them so I don't know if it came or not.
Judging from the bench, it looks like the water could be 10" inches deep. We're praying that they didn't receive anymore rain.
Empoli is a small town about 30 minutes from Florence, 15 minutes if you use an Italian taxi.
It looks like the natives don't mind the water and still ride their bikes downtown. Unless he's getting the hell out of there!
Hopefully I'll hear from them in the morning with an update, and the water has receeded. 🙏
