When I saw today's prompt stone rose, the first thing I thought about was when my family took a trip across the border into Mexico. This happened in the late 70's, we had a death in the family and the funeral was in Laredo, Texas. We spent a couple of days down there so we went to the market. They had all kinds of jewelry, purses, and these items carved in marble. They carved elephant bookends, pencil holders, and stone roses, even chess boards with pieces. We left the trinkets and brought bottles of booze. Back then you could bring two bottles per adult, I'm not sure what it is now. Dad always bought Bacardi rum and Kahl煤a coffee liqueur, not too much Jos茅 Cuervo tequila.
