In 2017 a couple of barn swallows built a nest in the upper right corner of Debbie's front porch but the babies didn't make it, we found them on the ground, covered in ants. Last year they didn't come back 😭 but this year they came back and had four babies. I don't know how they all live in this nest, but yesterday they spent the day flying around the yard. At dusk, all four come back to the nest and so does one of the parents.
I took the second photo at 9:45pm as I was leaving Debbie's. This nest must have a basement, because I don't know all five of these birds fit in their home. It will be interesting to see if they return next year, or skip a year. This #freewrite will be continued...
