When I was working at the post office, I kinda had a reputation of being a loan shark, must be an Italian thing. Whenever someone lost a bet with their bookie and needed money, I would get the call. I had the best interest rate at the post office because I usually got collateral. Whether it was a car title or a motorcycle, it was coming to my house. I've had a Rolex President and a 3 carat diamond solitaire, in my care. Being single has been very lucrative in my 61 years. After I retired from the PO I thought all the lending would end, but then I ran across a Veteran who needed some help. He was trying to sell all his weapons to fund a funeral for a loved one. I private messaged him on the selling page he was advertising on and offered to lend him the $3000, if he would trust me with his seven long guns. It didn't take him long to message me back for more details. After I explained to him my terms, he accepted and we met at the bank, had a notary sign an agreement, transferred his weapons to my car and I gave him the cash. I put them in my safe and didn't hear from him for six months. He called me when he had money, we would meet and I would put it on his account. Every $1000 he repaid, I would give back a weapon, sometimes two. It took almost one year to the day, for him to get his seven weapons back. Sometimes trust is your only option!
