Last week I did a few posts on favourites and I enjoyed the discussions that this opened up. So for today's post another favourites post, this time my favourite actors.

I came across this picture and just wanted to use it for this subject

I had trouble creating a 'countdown' list, so #1 is actually #10 and #10 is #1. There might be some surprises, but I will try to clarify most of them below in more detail. Behind the names are the movies that earned them a position in my list.

Al Pacino in Scent of a Woman

I will give a bit more details about my selection for the Top 5:

5: Harrison Ford, a kid-idol. Playing great memorable roles when I was growing up like Han Solo and Indiana Jones and still did great stuff afterwards.
4: Al Pacino, just look at his films and career. He is incredibly versatile and I don't think he's ever made a bad film. One of the biggest names in Hollywood and his resume speaks for itself.
3: Bruce Willis, I think he's very underestimated, he does a large variety of roles and is very versatile and diverse, he comes across believable in every role. I even cheered for him as he was playing the Jackal in the film with the same name opposite Richard Gere (overestimated in my opinion)
2: Tom Hanks, he can get away with murder. He has a fantastic sence of humour, he is incredibly versatile and can't do anything wrong. Any film that he participates in, he makes it much better and makes it an Oscar contender
1: Edward Norton, he was very young when he played in Primal Fear, but delivered a masterpiece. Ever since he's portrayed very interesting characters very convincingly. I had trouble as a Jew watching American History X, but he almost made me sympathise with Nazi's.

George Clooney & Kevin Spacey in the Men who Stare at Goats

I have to mention that Kevin Spacey was a huge favourite, until recent events. I feel that his performances should not erase him from my list and a man is innocent until proven guilty, but I did move him down because of that. Otherwise he would have ended in or around the top 5. I think he is a very versatile actor, who does great accents and emotions. The variety of his roles speak for themselves.

Harrison Ford in Air Force Once

I want to dedicate a paragraph on Leo DiCaprio. In my eyes, he has made one of the biggest changes possible in the history of movies. I did not like him in Titanic or Gangs of New York, but then he started doing some great roles, more serious and some great acting and in my opinion he should have gotten an Oscar much earlier in his career.

I hope you like my list, do you agree with what I have put here. Is someone missing? I have left some people out on purpose, but I don't mind discussing about them.
