Hello and welcome back my #monomad friends. This year we have crazy weather and working outside is quite challenging. However, at least I can sneak in between storms and make some Hive posting. So for today's theme, I choose to continue our Knicks Knacks series. You know, whenever I wander around with my camera, I find something interesting and hmmm photogenic objects. I would be happy to expand on the Knicks Knacks series for you. This particular collection consists of a variety of intriguing objects that I was fortunate enough to capture through photography. Each item has its own unique qualities, from the texture and color to the shape and size. It is truly a captivating set that is sure to pique the interest of any viewer. Good old candle, a mood maker since 500 BCE. In the quiet solitude of a dimly lit room, a solitary candle stands tall, its flame dancing delicately in the stillness of the air. As I watch this humble source of light, I find myself drawn into profound contemplation—a flickering metaphor of life's transience.
The flame of the candle represents the essence of existence itself—an ephemeral dance between light and darkness, life and death. It illuminates the darkness, providing a fleeting glimpse of the world around it. In its light, we see the beauty and fragility of life, the fleeting moments that define our journey.
Yet, even as the candle burns brightly, it knows that its fate is to be extinguished eventually. Its life is marked by a gradual surrender, a slow release of itself to the darkness that surrounds it. In its inevitable decline, the candle reminds us of the impermanence of all things, urging us to embrace the present moment, for it too shall pass.
There are many species of orchids and they do come in many shapes and colors. However, I find white ones the most prolific. White orchids have captivated humans for centuries due to their beauty and elegance. They are now cultivated worldwide and have become popular ornamental plants, with hybrid varieties bred to display an array of colors and patterns. While some species of white orchids are endangered due to habitat loss and illegal trade, efforts are being made to conserve and protect these magnificent flowers for future generations to enjoy.
Why not celebrate knick-knacks and make an ornamental statement piece for your home?
Well, I am not a fan of taxidermy. I rather watch animals in their natural habitat. However, I did came across this pheasant. Pheasants are known for their striking and vibrant plumage, but did you know that the male pheasants, known as roosters or cocks, have particularly elaborate and eye-catching feathers during the mating season? The stunning and colorful plumage of male pheasants serves as an essential aspect of their courtship displays.
During the breeding season, male pheasants engage in elaborate courtship rituals to attract females. They put on dazzling displays by fluffing their feathers, spreading their wings, and raising their elongated tail feathers into a majestic fan shape. This display showcases their vibrant colors, making them look larger and more impressive to potential mates.
However, what makes this display even more fascinating is that each species of pheasant has its own unique and intricate courtship dance and vocalizations. These displays are not only meant to attract females but also to establish dominance among rival males. The more elaborate and visually stunning the display, the more likely a male pheasant is to win the attention of a female and gain mating opportunities.
The courtship displays of pheasants are a testament to the beauty and complexity of nature's strategies for reproduction. Observing these courtship rituals is a delightful experience for wildlife enthusiasts, and it provides a glimpse into the fascinating world of pheasants and their unique behaviors.
Thailand is in my heart forever and I will come back as soon as possible. Statues and statements like this are making this place unique. This was on the driveway to the hotel if you wonder. Photogenic for sure.
