Have you ever felt so sad and despondent your chest begin to hurt? Like something is poking you right at that spot. Or just a random wave of sadness as a result of feeling nostalgic.
Well I have and do you know one of the best remedies to do at that moment is CRY?
Or like Elsa will say; LET IT GO.

I don’t know about you but I feel some type of release after my occasional cry fest which of course is necessary sometimes irregardless of the gender.

Just curl up alone into your little safe space, in your most comfy pjs and cry it all out.
But one last cherry on top is music. I mean crying is okay but crying with music? Excellent!
I use to have a personal sad playlist for my cry fest a long time ago but I lost it so I decided to make another while also sharing with you here on Hive. You never know when you need a playlist to cry to, well I got you!

Furthermore, I think the best music genre to release to has to be R&B/Pop.
I saw somewhere that if you really think about the most pain you’ve been through, it’s from people.
Be it loosing a loved one to death or heartbreak or letting go of friendships you thought would last forever, childhood unresolved trauma, depression and so on. It’s truly one of the most pains we as humans go through and R&B/Pop is all about that. Expressing what could’ve been if those pains were nonexistent or avoided.

Try reading this article with your favorite R&B song playing and see if you won’t channel those water works ;)

In addition, for selection to this week’s three tunes Tuesday zyzymena@zyzymena inspired me to participate in, I constructed a mini playlist from R&B/Pop songs of all time. The 90’s, 2010’s and so on.
In an descending order from the oldest to latest:

End of the Road by Boys II men.

The goated Boys II men released this album on April 30, 1991 and to me, this particular song is a drug.
I wasn’t born then neither was I even about to be formed but after listening to this song whenever my mom plays it, it was love at first sight listen haha.
The lyrics are simply sensational. “How could you love me and leave me and never say goodbye”. I’m sure some of us can relate to this but that’s for you and your cry fest to know.

Flying without wings by Westlife

Released November 1, 1999.
Life can be a handful and this song hits the nail on the head.
Imagine being clueless and lost for a long period of time and finally you’ve found your way. Or finally finding the last piece of the puzzle. I don’t know about you but that is exactly how this song makes me feel. Some people go through complicated issues not just romance and I’m glad there is a song that focuses more on that issue.

Someone like you by Adele

Released January 21, 2011.
Acceptance is the vibe this is giving. She lived in the moment, still lingered in hope but finally accepted and moved on upon realizing the certain someone found another girl and is married to her now.
It’s not easy going through that and I guess what she’s trying to say is she has been through her own 5 stages of grief and is on the final one which is acceptance.
Sadly but truly “sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead”.

That concludes my mini list for your cry fest.

Here is the link for iOS users, with a few additional songs with the same vibe.
