Classic - Monomad Challenge

For this occasion, continuing with the black and white photographs, I show you this photographic series comprised by some emblematic statues of the city of Valencia, Carabobo state - Venezuela, such as the case of the monolith of Bolivar, which is shown imposing over the airs of Valencia, in contrast to large trees and part of the city center, while the other statue is about Sucre, another important hero of the independence of the country, which I captured that image with some offerings made on that day, in his memory as a vital character in the history of Venezuela.

Now, while the other photographs are simply about a structure, which is based on that usually from many years ago, being the capitol of Valencia, which currently serves as the governor of the state, but I wanted to capture some parts of that capitol, which contextualize them as if it were a different time than ours, as if we were traveling to the past.

That is the magic of black and white, where we can find in modernity certain places and structures, which still have the same image, but just by taking them in achromatic, they lose the temporality, and we can not deduce what year it is, simply because it is a lens that has been classic.

Undoubtedly, black and white never ceases to fascinate me, because it is not a simple filter or an edition in photography, but the charm of capturing that beautiful aspect in photography, where the tonalities are contrasted more frequently, and create a character that is only achieved in this style photographic technique.
