At a section we were shown cocoa seedlings planted in a nursery.
We were agric students and it was surprising. We haven't heard about planting cocoa in a nursery because there was no reason to.
Why? you might ask.
Ok, Cocoa is a bad ass crop. It can withstand all sort of seasonal shenanigans.😂😂
I mean the natural habitat of the cocoa tree is in an evergreen rainforest
So why are they being nurtured in a nursery ?
Nurseries are use to raise plants that can easily get murdered on the field😂😂😂 ( You know poof, gone)
Well, according to the farmers and their research...
You can directly plant your cocoa on the field, that way you avoid going through the stress of transplanting.
But transplanted cocoa (B) will behave better than one directly planted (A).
It's simple A had gone through so much suffering (Don't worry, it will thrive) which gives B an advantage on things like seedlings growth, root and shoot growth, large green canopies development than A.
Don't be surprised if B's crop is a bit bigger with sturdier tree.
Overall, they both get to the promise land.
With B looking like Cinderella during the ball and A like Cinderella after the ball.
Eventually, they are both Cinderellas😂😂😂.
