cutting wood making stretchers and stretching canvas. the first layer of this painting for a new body of work. acrylic, water, pigment, and polyurethane brushed along gessoed canvas.
a collage that had been sitting around for a good few months had me revisit it and add a bunch more little pieces to the puzzle. i think it is ready to paint over now. i am going to do stripes with the oil paint over it. i think I should hide a figure in the middle of it.
This one turned out decent. went over a small piece i once thought was done. masked it and cut out some shapes, including a figure you can see in the upper right. then i spent a good three or 4 (who knows) hours touching it up, filling in spots with either dark or light depending on how it balanced the picture. i kinda like it!
new one from yesterday, i almost busted out the airbrush but it was grimy and needs cleaning. i was pleased to experience how nice it was to just paint with oil and gamsol on raw canvas, using a variety of different sized brushes. a little mark-making exercise which will probably be covered up quite extensively int he future.
this one i am really happy with. there is a hidden face in it. if you can find it and screen shot it and post it in the comments below i will send you 1HBD. this painting was once just a place to put leftover paint. Now i think i balanced it out and it works. There might be too much yellow. i might do a dark wash over the yellow after it is very dry.
this one is the result of a happy accident. the marks are from what was once masked over a larger painting, arranged mixed-up. since it is too black, it is a Work in Progress.
this one is odd, isn't it? not sure where this one is going but i have to sit with it for a while. i had to do something to it, it was driving me mad. too bad it kind of looks like a plant or a cartoon alien thing or something. i guess that means i have to keep working on it. the trouble with this one is that it is too textured.
here is one i'm not sure if i showed you guys. this once had to be brought down from drying way up by the ceiling to touch it up. this was a painting i actually listed for sale at once time but decided it was trash and to re-work it. now it looks like a crazy explosion of color. something almost native American about this one.
