No no no, this was not really my dinner for today. Dinner has passed and it's way bigger. This was actually a late night snack! Something I know some of you would find it interesting / weird.. Anyways, it's yummy and I love love it!
In Thai, it's called 'Moo hun (หมูหัน)' or the small pig that's been grilled slowly over time till the skin is damn deliciously crispy. That's the part we all love!
As the process is not something like, throwing the whole pig into the hot boiling oil and bamn! Done and ready to eat. This method takes time and not as easy as other ones, it cost a bit more.
1600THB ($53) for the pieces of crispy skins plus one big bowl of meat (cooked the way we want )
This time we went for Garlic marinated pork
It's the whole entire baby pig so we get all ears, legs, tales and all. You don't really eat pigs' ears, do you? I love it and so does my family.
The skin is real crispy. Perfect when dipping it with the black sweet sauce or the hot and sour seafood sauce. Some pieces come with no fat and meat on it. Some that do was yum but also make you a bit dizzy.
Here's what we have the meat done for. Though, totally up to you how you'd like it done. Super duper well paired with a few glasses of beer and that's what I did. Heineken, that is.
There it is, the whole set of Slow grilled pig or Moo Hun. Totally give it a go if you ever walk by one. Not the cheapest meal you could find in Thailand for sure but hey, the crispiness of the skin would just melt you heart <3
