If unlimited crabs for dinner sounds like a yes, come on in!!
It's so funny that one day my family was just like, 'Let's go get some durian!!' You know, that stinky fruit from Asia called 'Durian' right? Quite unique taste and smell. Some obsess with it and some just can't stand being a few feet close. Anyways, we took a trip just for that fruit to one of the provinces that's known for it, Chanthaburi.
A lot of the nieces and nephews of the family not that into durians so they find some other focus.
Yes, it's just by the coast so one of the things they're famous for is their seafood. Crabs, shrimps and all. We ended up staying a night! and what I will share with you today here is, no, not durian (un)fortunately for some. I would love to share about this unique experience at the homestay we stayed at!
There are quite a few rafting homestays around (for some reasons, Chanthaburi also well-known for that lol).
Our family got one whole house for ourselves with 3 levels. Nothing fancy, just mattresses on the floors and maybe a few rooms with beds for daddies mommies who love privacy. Each floor got a front balcony to enjoy the view and breath a clean air.
It's so natural.. someone saw a snake!
What I love about most is that there are a pond/natural swimming pool with a play park where you can run around, do a slide, and much more. Almost like what they have in game show on the TV! **Kevin thought the pond was used as a shrimp farm before. If that is so, kinda scary of all the chemicals not gonna lie but now seems not too shabby really.
After having so much fun spend so much energy like we're not in our 30's just yet, super starving and they know what's up.
There are lots of lots of food both seafood, Thai dishes, rice, noodle and all. Not just that, unlimited Chang beer, can you believe that!? We quite focused on the crab though. Kev was pretty serious trying to eat all that has left on the table like an hour after all my family members left hehe. Good boy!
Anyways, food is good. Seafood is fresh! Beer somehow tastes a little bland but it was still good and got me tipsy so, pretty good as well.
so, this whole experience, homestay with all the family all in one house, a water play park and unlimited food, all this for $50 per pax so about 83 HIVE at current value. I think that's not bad at all.
There are a dime a dozen of a place like this in Chanthaburi and I recommend you check other places out. I myself quite enjoy it here but my family was not all that happy so, might as well find something similar but a little impressive? not sure. You do you ! It was fun and I would go do it again maybe with a group of friends!
