Bangladeshi Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman has retained his hold on the Delhi Open. The experienced chess champion, standing fourth in the top with 4 points, won 4 consecutive matches.
Zia lost to Vietnam's Grandmaster Tran Tuen Minna in the fourth round match held at the IGI Stadium on Thursday (January 11th). Earlier, India defeated Shatunu Vembura in the third round to overcome the barrier.
Zia's tournament began with a win against Sri Lanka's Akila Kabinda. In the second round, the opponent was Shantunu's Swadeshi Gourob Kumar.
