Last time, we set a record for farming coins in a single session.
This time, however, I managed to hit an anti-record. I dropped from Rank 10 to Rank 7. Did I make mistakes? Unfortunately, I don’t record my games, so we can’t know for sure. I’d guess there were a few mistakes, but that’s not the main point here.
The main point is that any aggro deck likely has very high variance. I’ve had similar downstreaks before, but it feels like last time I only dropped to Rank 8. In the past, such events would have made me want to chase my losses, because starting the next day at Rank 7-8-9 means missing out on solid profits. At Rank 8, you literally earn half as much as at Ranks 11-12.
But not this time.
- First, I’ve started to take the game much more lightly.
- Second, I’m not rushing things. Sure, there’s a challenge, but half of the outcome doesn’t even depend on me—it’s tied to the currency exchange rate.
- Third, I’ve been completely consumed by PoE 2.
I managed to play a bit of the first game and couldn’t miss the launch of the second. Games like this are best played from the start; otherwise, the entry barrier becomes too high later on.
I’m highly likely to start writing something about it in a dedicated thread. After all, the best way to truly learn a topic is to explain it to someone else, and this game isn’t exactly simple. Even in beta, there’s a ton of content.
It’s funny how the concept of P2E in this game was implemented long before it became (or is now becoming) mainstream. Experienced players make a couple of thousand bucks at the start of a league, while skilled teams can earn tens of thousands.
It would be amazing if GGG capitalized on the crypto hype in 2025 and listed their own token, something like $DIVINE.
The only question is, where should I post? Maybe in Hive Gaming?
