Greetings!
It's been a while since I visited any city abroad, a few months ago it was my first ever visit to Zagreb. This April I had a chance to check it out again and go for a quick walk around.
As I had couple of hours free time went to the city work related and had to wait for one of my coworkers.
I love walking, traveling and discovering places I've never been before, it wasn't hard or boring to wait a few hours at all! Time flew and so did some really loud cars that were driving around the old part of Zagreb. I had to investigate and check it out!
As I went to check it out what that could be I quickly realized that rally cars were randomly driving around the city in circle. What a treat it was!
Haven't smelled raw petrol fumes in the air for a very long time.. actually it's been over 3 years since I last went on a drift event. Later I found out that WRC (FIA World Rally Championship) was happening the same weekend in Zagreb.
Too fast to take a photo!
Walking around the streets I passed a lot of interesting car's from old, sporty, some rare ones and even super cars. But I always and forever will admire oldtimers!
With all the kilometers made, passed years, the history they carry, patina nature made them and passion owners have for them to keep them on the road.
It was like cherry on a cake and I forgot that I was working on sunday.. it was a sunny, warm and was even able to go drink a cup of coffee in a bar after over half a year.
Although I'm that type of a person to walk around bars and coffee shops a lot, I love coffee you make yourself, instead of a machine, and I enjoy coffee anywhere I want too with a cooker and a bit of preperations.
Even if everything is/was closed, nobody serves a cup of coffee in forest/hill in the middle of nowhere, not that I know of. :)
This time I discovered some new places in the old part of Zagreb, past two parks, many more WRC cars and a bunch of beautiful old buildings.
Zagreb is about 2 hours of driving away from where I live, a little bit more now as there are mostly only more complications on the border for no reason. Totally different than what TV, radio and media tells about.
Sadly restaurant's where I could eat weren't open yet, so I visited a trusty and friendly old bakery in the center of the city, there's plenty to chose from, although not really a healthy meals, I must admit I loved the dessert. Probably made a few kilometers around the city to get some calories burned.
In the evening I went to pick up my coworked and went back to home, took us about 2 hours longer to get back as normally, got him home and went back to my home city where I parked the car and finished an amazing sunday I didn't expect since I started my day at 4.00 am.
Thank you for stopping by and have a great weekend everyone!
Stay awesome.. Happy, Strong & Healthy!
