An After Freewrite.
I was able to see my sister Saturday. She came to visit her ailing adoptive Mother at the nursing home. It was only the second time we have ever met. The first time was two years prior. We share our biological Mother and two siblings.
This was an emotional meeting where she came and hugged me tightly and told me her Mom had alzheimers and was now on palliative care and not eating. I met my brother-in-law for the first time that night. Sunday she messaged us that her mom had passed on.
This week a young 22 year old manager of Wendy's, where I've often picked up food, was shot in the leg and abdomen during an armed robbery. He died at the hospital almost upon arrival. This local young man was studying to be a preacher and had his first sermon scheduled in a week for the Nazerine church. He leaves behind a widow and a child. A vigil was held outside the Wendy's on Tuesday and all proceeds of sales went to the family as well as donation boxes set around all local Wendy's.
I just got off a phone call with my cousin who has breast cancer now spread to her lungs and lymph nodes.
Time passes quickly. We should handle it like the treasure it is.
