Puzzle Time with wanderwithtwo Pt. 4 - Framing up the finished puzzle
Hey everyone! 馃憢
After a bit of delay with the post due to everyone converting to online shopping, our puzzle glue has finally arrived! The delay with the post is due to the Covid-19 where the shops are closed and only online shopping is available. We know someone working for Australia Post who told us that there are just too many parcels everyday and not enough resources to get these out on time to people. They're also temporarily suspended Express Post as they can no longer guarantee the 1-3 business day delivery! Imagine how busy they are...
Back to the puzzle glue, its arrived but wasn't happy the way it arrived as it came damaged and a bit of the glue was spilt inside the packaging. We didn't want to ask for a refund or for a new one to be shipped out as we ordered it from a small company and we know times are hard now for them so we let it be. It could also be the fault of the posting company too for bad handling. Anyway... 馃し
We laid out some foil on the dining table as we didn't have any newspaper or cardboard available. We then transferred the completed puzzle on the foil before I poured a bit of the glue on top and evenly spread it across the whole puzzle.
We let it sit to dry for a bit over an hour before carefully flipping it over to the back and applied glue to the back as well. Normally we wouldn't have to but we felt that it would secure the puzzle better. Even when we were flipping the puzzle over, it felt it was still flimsy and the puzzle could crumble without the support.
I think that the glue is pretty good for the price. $10 and it comes with a tool to spread the glue. It also has enough to glue 2x 1000 piece puzzles.
Again, we left the puzzle to dry completely for approximately 1.5 hours and checked that the puzzle pieces were going to stay in place. After ensuring that the puzzle was dry and that we didn't need to glue other areas, we then put it into the frame our friend got us.
The frame now sits on next to our tv until we decide where to hang it in the house :)
