It had been a hard first week on the job and bossman left two hours earlier. Marion grabbed his jacket and headed for the door. He knew what he needed. He was headed to Jax Place to cut loose a little. He had the next two days off and he knew he could earn more money playing pool then in a day at the office.
"Hey Marion. You find that paper work yet? Weyer wants it by Wednesday." Davis called out to him.
"Yeah yeah Davis. I know. I'll find it. He'll have it by then."
He hoped he would be able to remember what he did with it. He passed by the time clock, punched in his numbers and clocked out. He could and should take the maglev which would get him to the bar sooner but he needed to blow off some steam befor he got there.
He walked around back of the station, ducked under the the protective cement barrier and walked along the glass shield to watch the sea life. It always helped him refocus. As he walked he went over everything he could remember, step by step. He knew there was something he was not seeing. The file had been on his desk and in the blink of an eye it was gone.
He stopped and turned as a school of fish swam by darting around. Out of the corner of his eye he caught sight of a big gray blob and froze in place. He had hear about Great Grey's before but the normal observation decks were pretty much sheltered from the vision of such large predators in order to protect the people living in this underwater world.
Marion hated it here. The only thing he liked was that he could take these walks and no one knew other wise he could be fined for safety violations or worse he would be tagged with a chaperone.
An hour after leaving work he finally reached Jax Place. He headed for the bar and sat on a stool. It was still early so instead of grabbing a pool table he ordered his favorite Sharkbite beer.
