Some individuals are adamant on recalling past events to prove their current point of view. It is mostly not productive at all because it can bring back bitter old memories. We should learn to adapt with time because many things and conditions change over time and past things cease to apply anymore

As anyone in the office can attest to, emotions, disputes, and point of views are very present in our meetings, and it is extremely difficult to hold an otherwise productive discussion when this takes place. We can do better, and we are.

In any case, asking for individuals to just get over it because you can't change their memory is the same as them just being stubborn and obdurate towards reality. History was made, and it is the custodians of history who should determine the facts. We should know and remember our past while understanding that history is only what we choose to write and record. We should choose the facts and not try to rewrite history. Human existence is a continuous process of making mistakes and being wrong.

Compassion is the ability to let go of the past, to remember, and to forgive. It is something that was held dear by those who came before, by those who are still alive and by those who have passed away. With time, people will inevitably forget, they will forget their history, but they cannot ever erase what they have done.

In any case, thought that does not leave an historical record leaves a legacy. That is why past events are crucial to reconstructing the current context. It is also the reason why we must uphold responsible dialogue and learn from all the mistakes and successes of the past, rather than abusing and condemning people who have good intentions, but whose mind fails.

Following the path of Knowledge is often the most compassionate choice. Unfortunately, that is not always possible, especially when dealing with the myriad of aspects of contemporary life. This is the more complex aspect of the Relation of Judgment. Even more tragic, as the relationships begin to fade out and the sun sets, the individual may well feel isolated and discouraged and start drifting from the Relation of Judgment. This is even worse, when they are part of a larger group and the alternative is being part of an expansion of imbalance and discord.

People without understanding of nature react emotionally and start demanding certain treatment or end up suffering. We should rely on spiritual powers to guide us and steer us towards enlightenment. If we can learn to make sense of past and not repeat the same mistakes again and again, then our life will become more meaningful and fulfilling. The more you allow yourself to breathe, the easier it will be to start seeing the bright side of things. Allow yourself the grace of releasing all the attachments, pain, guilt, and regret and more importantly, the grace to stay happy and hopeful for what the future holds.
