I was thinking that there are only 26 words in the alphabet and yet there are millions of stories. Well, here's one more story done from those 26 words...

They tell me things that I have to believe but they've told so many lies that I don't believe anything they tell me anymore. And then they showed me a map of progress with all the reasons why I should and I had to ask them what they were trying to sell me and who it would benefit?

They walked away then, shaking their heads and saying I'd never get the rise with an attitude like that.

I thought about it and decided that if I had to call today anything then I would call it my day and let all good things come to me on my terms.

A heap of enjoyment later they marched back and said I was asking for too much and that there wouldn't be enough to go around for everyone. So I asked: "how so?"

They said the world was on short rations until it had paid back to the banks all it owed them.

"How come it owes them so much?" I asked.

"That's what banks do," they replied.

"But that's madness, to put the whole world in debt; what are they trying to do, make everyone slaves?"

"It's the system," they said, and took out a huge book and wrote my name down under subversive.

"Who owns the banks?" I asked.

"We are under no obligation to enlighten you on that," they said and withdrew behind their barricades.

"First do no harm," I shouted after them.

They stared at me through their plastic screens with eyes that showed little intelligence and programmed up to the hilt with their instructions.

As I looked into their souls I saw fear and deeper still an impenetrable darkness that would not let them out of the prisons they had allowed to be built out of their lives.

I looked around me then at all the others like me and saw some of them shaking their heads as if they were trying to wake up.

A helicopter roared above us with the words crowd control in large bold letters on its fuselage. It began broadcasting from speakers attached to its sides: "Go back to work. You have five minutes and then we take action." It boomed this at us over and over as it flew around.

It was a strange dream to wake up to and it seemed there was nothing anyone could do but obey. Still, no-one moved.

Maybe we were waiting to see what they would do.

When it became clear that we were not going to go back to work they began to withdraw until they were behind a long row of machines.

Water cannon I thought at first; but no water came from them; instead I began to feel strange and tingly and then my skin began to itch like crazy and I started feeling hot.

I noticed everyone else was agitated and becoming concerned and some of us were moving back, away from those machines that didn't seem to be doing anything at all but just standing there menacingly.

It was becoming unbearable and I knew I had to do something, staying there was no longer an option.

It seemed to me that they wanted to herd us back to where they wanted us, to be controlled, but I am not a cow to be herded; and with that thought I staggered forward on legs that felt like jelly, and burning.

As I moved towards the machines, others did too until we were all moving forward as one. Some of us fell, screaming and some others stopped to help them up.

I was close to the machines now but had no idea what I was going to do when I got there; the intense heat was painful and made it hard to think, so I just kept going forward.

And then I was under the machines and immediately felt relief and with that I began to think straight again.

They must be using some kind of micro-wave ray against us to control us and force us to do what they want; but they had no right; what do they think we are: slaves? Well if that was so, then this one just revolted.

I climbed to the top of the machine nearest to me and began kicking the dish mounted there and slowly it folded in upon itself.

Others too were doing the same, but the vast majority of us poured past the machines towards the plastic barricades that would be little defence against us all.
