My wife and I decided to take advantage of our time off of work. For some reason students at International School's in Thailand have a fall break when there isn't much of a Fall. We decided to do the fun "touristy" activities that we weren't able to on our last visit to Bangkok.
I registered us for a tour of of Bangkok on a bike. Neither of us are cyclist and spend less than an hour on a bike per year. What was I thinking? Let's just say I was hesitant to purchase a 4-hour tour.
The tour started at 8 am in Chinatown on one of the oldest Soi (streets) in Bangkok. The tour company was professional and seemed to be knowledgeable of the city. Our guide assured us that safety was his number one priority and gave us a few basic rules: 1) Ride in a straight line 2) Always be alert 3) Keep your eyes open 4) Have Fun!
We were the only tourist because Thailand's tourism industry was hit hard by the pandemic. Less people was better. Our guide was able to give us an experience that he couldn't have given the larger groups. He even extended the tour an extra 40 minutes for free.
Well... I think I can show you better than I can tell you.
In summary, we saw temples, Buddha, Flower Markets, Ferries, Skyscrapers, Murals, Monkeys, Chinatown and much more. Overall the tour was fantastic and I'm glad that we took advantage of our time of.
