I don't know how to start this, the truth ... I think I'll be writing and I will vent as I go.
I want to do this post for all of us who have lost a life partner such as a pet, whether it was recent or not, I believe that there will always be that great emptiness in the heart, I firmly believe that pets belong to whatever kind they are, they give you an important reason to live your life no matter how difficult it may be, they give you a reason to smile, if you feel low in spirits just seeing them fills you with joy, your pet will always be by your side and He will love you exactly the same, there is no love more unconditional than that of that being.
I'm going to tell you a little about my little piece of heaven, I'm going to introduce you to Nina.
She appeared in my path on March 13, 2009, I was calmly leaving school (I remember it was a catechism class) when I see some children from afar throwing stones at a cat with their children, which made me very angry and helpless , I grabbed said cat in a cloth with her baby kittens and put them in a building not far from the school where they would be safe. I know that what I am about to say is wrong, since the kittens must be with their mother until the end of their lactation period, but one of the kittens caught my attention, he had a bad eye and he kept looking at me so beautiful, I It gave me a lot of tenderness and I ended up taking it home, knowing that my mother was not going to accept having a pet, I took the risk and when I arrived there was only my older brother, immediately he also fell in love with that little creature (it was inevitable).
The time for mommy to come home from work was approaching, my brother and I ran to hide her, grabbed a cloth and put it in a red punch bowl under the table, my mom arrived and she didn't realize it until about 2 hours passed and the The little animal begins to meow and there it was impossible to hide, but what we did not expect is that my mother also fell for its charms, so much so that the next day she came with a plate for her food, food, a litter box with His shovel and sand to relieve himself, we were stunned, the only condition was that we had to clean his box. I remember those days, my brother and I fought over who had to clean the litter box hahahahaha, we still complied because we knew that the consequence of not doing it was that my mother would give it up for adoption.
It was time to choose the name, we never agreed with anyone, we called her "Baby", "Precious", but most of all "Girl", there came a time when we called her like this and from there came her name "Nina ”, And the truth responded very well to him, he knew it was with her
We never gave him vaccinations or medical care as such, he just put a cotton ball with cold chamomile tea in his bad eye and it cured in about 2 months, really what he had was that he was filled with mischief to the point that he couldn't open his eye. Thank God he never got sick from absolutely nothing, he was always healthy, I think that every pet lives fully if he takes good care of him, if it is advisable to get all his vaccinations on time, even if I have not done it and nothing bad has happened, it does not mean Make it the same for everyone, so if you can do it, do it.
Continuing with Nina, I have to say that she was quite pretentious at lunchtime, she did not like to eat the same thing for so long, my mother had to vary the type of cat, chicken or fish, otherwise she would throw a tantrum and would not eat until we changed her cup for another type of food like water, he liked to always have his water clean. She had her bed, it was a woven basket with a blue Winnie Pooh pillow, but she preferred to sleep in the bed with us and really, we left her, it was nice to feel her warmth, although if you moved a lot she didn't like it, she got down to go to one of the other beds and one had to stop to open the doors of the rooms.
¿Sus juguetes favoritos?
Her favorite toys? Aluminum foil balls, her weakness, if we had or just used a piece of paper, we made her balls with it and she couldn't resist, she played with them all over the house until she lost them. The paper bags, she loved them, she stirred and began to bite them, we took them off because it is dangerous, she could drown if she swallowed a piece.
In 2011, a colleague named Sasha arrived, at first everything was very murky because she didn’t like it, but time passed and they were spending it together at all times, they played and slept together, until Sasha once ran away and was in heat, she came back pregnant and had 3 kittens, we had no space or way to support the 5 cats, my mother did not want to separate Sasha from her children, so she gave them up for adoption to a lady who could have them all.
The first days Nina was looking for her throughout the house, she could tell that she was close to her, she didn't understand anything, where is my little sister? She little by little she was overcoming it, we suppose that she had already understood it, or accepted it just like us.
February 2019 arrives, by then Nina was 10 years old with us, we had to move to Caracas (a city located in Venezuela), Nina did not like the change at all, it was all very new for her apart from the fact that there was another person , a person he had never seen and was strange to him. It took her more or less 3 months to get loose and familiarize herself with the new house, in the end she liked it. I was at the university all day, I hardly saw her anymore, only when she received me at night and said goodbye in the morning, it was the same to my mother, the ones who stayed with her were my brother and her grandfather.
Her favorite places? A box that was next to the window, she liked to see the pigeons pass by and that one stay with it. The room of her brother, she spent it with him, on his legs she cuddled so that he would pet her and she looked at him with her angelic face. But I think the favorite one was definitely the kitchen, she was anxiously waiting for her chicken, she was going to wake up my brother just to feed him, Angel (my brother) became the light of her eyes, she did not stop accompanying him nowhere, if he was going to leave Nina would look at him and say with her eyes: Where are we going?
Nina accompanied us in all the moments that we needed, good or bad, my mother went through a beginning of CVA (cerebrovascular accident) and Nina was with her, my brother and I went through difficult moments and she was with us.
And now is hard times coming. Nina left on January 4, 2021, she had a troubled December due to the fireworks, she went into shock, my brother quickly read her to the nearest vet, but I can't do anything and she ended up giving her a tachycardia, my mother and I was far away, so unfortunately we couldn't say goodbye, my brother was with her throughout the process.
4pm on 01/04/21 the departure of our lioness arrived ... or not really, it remains in our memories and hearts. We will always keep in mind that little piece of heaven that was by our side for 11 years, was part of the family and will continue to be.
For those who read me. I really ask you from my heart, do not use more pyrotechnics, only the colors are beautiful, the sounds they emit and the consequence they bring are not, at all.
Thank you very much to those who took the time to read this, it helps me to remember many of the things I lived with my pet and above all to get that misery out of my mind and capture it and leave it here. I will only keep all the good that we live together.
