For fifty years, I owned and managed businesses, performed technical and organizational consulting, created and managed global business organizations, and worked on teams that investigated corruption and addressed national security issues. During that time, I created and managed two global organizations of thousands of people, sat on more than fifty industry and corporate boards, performed more than twenty business reorganizations, served on a task force investigating corruption in government, raised children and dogs, and was an avid reader with more than 3,000 books in my personal library. A frequent experience was setting a book aside and commenting, “I can write better than that.”
In 2019, I sat down one Saturday and decided to prove it.
Over the next six years, I created a nine-novel series about a team of mercenaries and intelligence agents led by a genius hacker/crypto expert named Gary Booker. I drew on my experiences and those of my associates in the dark world to create an adventure series that chronicles the Booker team as they navigate the events of those years. For my audience, this is a unique experience, as it seems like they are actually following historical events day by day, with this fictional team embedded within and affecting that history.
