Hello friends! How is everyone? I hope you are doing well and taking good pictures.
After a week of rain, the sun is finally out.
So, I took my camera, my bicycle and went out into the street.
Not far from here, there is a small park, called Parque dos Lagos and located in the middle of the urban area.
It has soccer and basketball fields, games for children, and two small lakes in which countless fish, ducks and other birds such as herons and hawks live.
But the main attraction is the colony of capyvaras that live on the shores of the lakes.
Capyvara is a very friendly animal, it doesn't bother with the presence of humans.
I skirted the lakes photographing the ducks and other birds and finally sat on the grass near the capybaras and spent most of the afternoon with them.
The name "capivara" comes from the Tupi language and means "grass eater".
It is the largest species of rodent in the world, reaching 1.30 meters in length and weighing up to around ninety kilos. It has a thick coat, reddish brown.
Capybaras are social animals, generally living in groups of ten to twenty individuals on the banks of rivers, lakes and floodplains. They are found in all countries of South America with the exception of Chile.
It's a strange feeling to be in the company of animals surrounded by vegetation and in a few steps to be back in the middle of the city.

Olá amigos! Como estão todos? Espero que estejam bem e fazendo boas fotos.
Depois de uma semana de chuva, finalmente o sol apareceu.
Assim, peguei minha câmera, minha bicicleta e fui para a rua.
Não longe de aqui, existe um pequeno parque, chamado Parque dos Lagos e localizado no meio da área urbana.
Ele conta com campos de futebol e basquete, jogos para as crianças, e dois pequenos lagos no qual vivem inúmeros peixes, patos e outras aves como garças e gaviões
Mas o principal atrativo é a colônia de capivaras que mora nas beiras dos lagos.
Capivara é um animal muito amigável, não se incomoda com a presença de humanos.
Contornei os lagos fotografando os patos e outras aves e finalmente sentei na grama perto das capivaras e passei a maior parte da tarde com elas.
O nome "capivara" tem origem no idioma tupi e significa "comedor de capim".
É a maior espécie de roedor do mundo, podendo chegar a 1,30 de comprimento e pesar até cerca de noventa quilos. Possui uma pelagem grossa, castanha avermelhada.
As capivaras são animais sociais, vivem geralmente em bandos de dez a vinte indivíduos às margens de rios, lagos, e áreas alagáveis. São encontradas em todos os países da América do Sul com exceção do Chile.
É uma sensação estranha ficar na companhia de animais rodeados de vegetação e em poucos passos estar de volta no meio da cidade.

Antes do sol se pôr, montei minha bicicleta e retornei a casa.
