Hi everyone. Hope you all are well as always.
When I told my friend I was going to Kuala Lumpur, she immediately sent me a video of a unique bookstore, people flocking to it because of its photo spots. I replied, "Wow, I hope I can explore and find that place."
In fact, the viral bookstore was in the same building as the venue for the first day of the Hive Fest conference. How lucky I was. While attending Hive Fest, I got to check out the viral bookstore.
That was BookXcess at REX KL…
Let's get it!
BookXcess at REX KL
This bookstore is located on the third floor of a vintage-themed building. The entire space is lined with bookshelves in a uniform brown color. The bookstore has two sections: bestsellers are placed at the front, while the back is filled with books of various genres.
When I went there, I really wanted to buy a lot of books, but then realized I didn't have any extra luggage. So I only bought two.
Speaking of this bookstore, it's now a popular tourist destination for foreign tourists. For example, when I went there, I saw several tourists from China and Korea who came there just to take photos at the viral photo spot. I even heard several people speaking the same language as me. This proves that this bookstore is a must-visit destination for foreign tourists.
Of all the areas of the BookXcess bookstore, I like the back the most. They have a unique layout. The shelves are lined up and stacked in steps—you know, a stadium, that's how I see it. It's a unique and unusual layout. However, there are some statues above the shelves that sometimes surprise me. Don't be surprised, I was a little surprised.
I've been going to this area many times, wondering if I should buy it. They have unique pins, collaborating with Harry Potter. As a Potterhead, I can't resist buying something. But because I'm more focused on other books, I've turned a blind eye to this area. What a shame.
Nowadays, many bookstore owners have innovated by transforming their bookstores into unique spaces that attract the public. While some people's primary goal—perhaps simply to take a photo in a viral location—is at least they've seen the books inside, and that might be the first step toward developing a passion for reading—for someone who isn't a reader. So, I think making a bookstore a tourist attraction—one you can showcase—is a good thing.
This is on my wishlist, and it makes me want to return here because, when I compare prices at other bookstores, BookXcess is much more affordable.
What do you think?

Hi, Halo, Annyeong, welcome to my galaxy.
I have so much imagination in my head. Something that I can't achieve as a human and as a girl. So writing is very challenging. Since Junior High School, I have written whatever I want to write. Without skill, I just write what I want to read. Now I have 12th published novels and all of those are romance.
Yeah, I proudly say that I am a passionate author, traveler wannabe, and blogger.
