Hello everyone...
This was one of the unique things about my time in Japan. It was a sunny day, but unfortunately, it wasn't on the calendar. Since arriving in Japan, my feet have been working so hard, even keeping up with my brother's walking pace, that my shoes broke. This was the second time my shoes had broken from too much walking. The first time, they were glued back together and could be worn again. The second time happened when we visited Tokyo. Like this... It's broken...
My brother then asked me to wait while he looked for a shop that sold glue. I found a place to sit and ended up on the banks of the Sumida River, which also showcased Tokyo's landmarks, the Tokyo Skytree and the Asahi Flame.

At first, I didn't know what was around there. I just stumbled along while looking for a place to sit. That's when I discovered a bridge that many people loved. I approached the crowd, still looking for a seat to wait for my brother to arrive with the shoe glue. And when I saw those two landmarks, I became interested in seeing them, and what a great place, when I looked down, wow, there is a river. So I immediately went down, right on the banks of the Sumida River.
The Sumida River, in Japanese called as Sumidagawa. That River is one of the largest rivers in Tokyo that branching off from the Arakawa and the Shingashi River. This river side called as Sumida because it's located in the Sumida area of Tokyo. Its vastness makes it reminiscent of the Ganges River in India.
The bridge I saw earlier was the Azuma Bridge, which stretches across the Sumida River. This bridge is also busy with tourists, both local and international. However, the most comfortable spot is still the riverbank, specifically at the Tokyo Cruise pier. This bridge is often lit with fireworks for New Year's, and the guardrails are also lit up at night.
The Sumida Riverbank area also serves as a dock for the Tokyo Cruise, where you can board a luxurious and unique cruise ship and tour Tokyo along the Sumida River. Sitting on the shore for almost an hour, I saw various cruise ships, including one parked at this dock. It looked like a warship to me. I don't know what its purpose was, but I suspect it was a submarine for visitors.
The Unique think about this Sumida River side is, you can see two landmarks at once: the Tokyo Skytree and the Asahi Flame. These two Tokyo icons were what initially drew me to stop and observe them. They both appear very close, with their unique shapes, especially the Asahi Flame, which looks like gold.
These two landmarks are even more captivating when viewed at night, especially Tokyo Skytree, which will have a unique twinkling glow.
When my brother finally arrived with the shoe glue, we stayed there to enjoy the riverside atmosphere. Although it looked hot, it was still cool. Not the kind that requires a jacket, but cool. I went barefoot watching the pigeons while my shoes were waiting to dry.
