Hello everyone!, Today I want to share some images that I had the opportunity to know, it is a place in the middle of the Andean mountain range, called Payenia, which is made up of more than 800 monogenetic basaltic cones and a few polygenetic cones made up of differentiated rocks and fed from superficial magmatic chambers. In this area most of the volcanoes have been extinct for thousands of years, but there are some that retain minimal activity, which can be seen in the fumaroles protruding from the interior of the craters.

In order to get there it was a long, tiring journey since we had to travel long distances on horseback for 6 days, beyond being a geological research trip and the volcanoes in the area, it was an incredible walk in the mountains, being in contact with nature and being able to enjoy the sunrises and sunsets from an unusual perspective since we were more than 2,500 meters above sea level. The truth is that it is one thing to tell the story, but living it is something completely different and priceless. The good thing is that there are cell phones with a camera to capture these beautiful places.

This image shows what is known as volcanic slag, at some point this was molten rock that was ejected from the crater of the volcano, which upon contact with cold air begins its solidification process, in addition to the internal gases that emanate from the interior of the rock produces a porous texture in its structure.
