It has been a very long time since I last went on an adventure into the forest, and this is an activity and an exciting experience that I have truly missed. Today, a few of my friends and I decided to explore a forest located on the outskirts of my uncle鈥檚 village, with the goal of discovering new things in life. I made this journey in the morning, when the atmosphere and weather were still quite calm and refreshing. To reach the forest, we also had to first pass through a very large oil palm plantation, which was most likely owned by a company.
The sunlight was starting to become intense, and the sweat had already begun to pour, which was a sign that this adventure was starting to get exciting. When we arrived at the oil palm plantation, we decided to take a short break while enjoying the peaceful and calming atmosphere of nature. Inside the plantation, I also managed to discover various exciting things and interesting subjects, such as wildflowers and unique little insects.
The oil palm plantation area is incredibly vast, and there are several empty areas that have recently been planted with young oil palm seedlings. The farther we explore nature, the more new things we will discover. Every discovery feels so meaningful because it is the result of the effort we have put into this adventure.
When I arrived at the riverside, I also managed to find a large pile of bamboo. I don't know what species of bamboo this is, but it is not very large in size yet quite long. As I was cutting a piece of bamboo, I was suddenly startled by the presence of a civet that came out from the base of the bamboo.
Seeing the civet, my friends and I became curious and decided to take a closer look at the area around the base of the bamboo. However, I was not really sure whether the civet had made its nest at the base of the bamboo.
Deep inside the forest, I managed to discover a very large swamp, and the swamp was already filled with a lot of rumbia trees. None of us dared to get too close to the swamp because the area looked very dirty and the water was extremely murky. We didn't know what kinds of animals might be living in the swamp, so it was better to stay away from it.
However, after observing the swamp, I noticed that there were actually many rumbia tree trunks that had already been cut, which means that there is some community activity around this swamp. It is worth knowing that rumbia leaves have many benefits, one of which is that they can be woven into roofing material for houses. We can even find some houses in rural areas that still use roofs made from rumbia leaves.
Rumbia trees also have thousands of benefits because almost every part of the tree can be used, and you should know that sago comes from this tree.
I don't remember how much time I spent on this adventure, and honestly, this adventure gave me so many new experiences and valuable lessons, as well as amazing discoveries of wildflowers and unique insects that I had never even seen before. At exactly 4:00 pm, we decided to begin our journey back home, and we arrived at the village at half past six in the evening.
