Texas Panhandle and Plains - Part Two
This is my second post of photos from my driving trip between
Dallas and Amarillo, Texas.
The wide open prairie of this part of Texas is a great place to harness the power of the wind!
I've seen many of these in Texas and Oklahoma.
They provide inexpensive power to homes and businesses.
I'm not sure how much of the savings is being passed on to the homeowners, but hopefully some of it.
I'm sure the initial cost of these wind turbines is expensive.
Landowners are paid to allow companies to place the wind turbines on their land.
These size of the wind turbine blades are impressive as you can see when you view them upclose!

The state of Texas is impressive!
It covers 268,581 square miles.
It is the second largest state in the USA, with Alaska being the largest in the USA.
There are 7 main regions of Texas and I have lived in 3 of them.
It is an amazing state with diverse landscapes.
I'm starting a series about the 7 different regions.
I have visited or lived in all of them.
