I awoke to see the skies above,
A blanket of cotton in dreary gray,
Pitter patter went the droplets fell,
Lessen the burden it carries.

Yesterday and before and now,
Tomorrow as expected it will,
Gloom the skies the sun covers itself,
To rest from gifting radiance behind sheets.

There was no sorrow,
Nor was there joy or exhilaration,
Somberly nestling in my chest,
Even the light needs to slumber.
