Coronavirus Shutdown: First "representative" Covid-19 study in Austria, bs or real?
Aktuelles Dashboard
| Österreich | # |
|---|---|
| Covid-19 | 13,549 |
| Aktive Fälle | 7.166 |
| Verstorben | 319 |
| Genesen | 6,064 |
SORA-Studie (1-6.04.2020)
n = 2000
23% haben die Befragung und Testung abgelehnt (!)
n = 1544 (Zufallsstichprobe, österreichweit)
Ergebnis
Bleibt SAFU :)

Today the eagerly awaited test results of the first "representative" Covid-19 study in Austria have been published.
Unfortunately the result is not very reliable. A large proportion of the respondents (23%) refused to participate in the study in the first place 😂
Current Dashboard
| Austria | # |
|---|---|
| Covid-19 | 13,549 |
| Active cases | 7,166 |
| Deaths | 319 |
| Recovered | 6,064 |
SORA study (April 1st–6th 2020)
n = 2000
23% have refused the survey and testing (!)
n = 1544 (random sample, Austria)
Result
3 recently tested Covid-19 positive
2 additional positives found (number has not even be mentioned by SORA in the presentation)
95% confidence interval
10,200 to 67,400 current cases
Estimated value
28,500 SARS-CoV-2 Infected in Austria
Population
0,33%
It should also be taken into account that a PCR test is not 100% accurate.
The result can therefore be almost dumped. Not reliable.
What you can probably interpret into this is that we in Austria are only at the very beginning of the spread of the virus. The number of active cases could be 3 times higher, but we do not know for sure, because the sample size and the PCR accuracy are too small to provide reliable data at this stage.
Herd immunity may not even be 1% in Austria. Corona has barely started, as maiLab said.
I am generally very surprised that we have such inaccurate data and almost bs figures in the national health system.
Stay SAFU :)
