More pictures from Brownsmead, Oregon, the northernmost community in the state of Oregon, USA. The land is very wet, but natives are very loyal to the area, even those of us who no longer live there.
I was very fortunate to be there on a day when the summer weather was spectacular. This area has a very rainy climate and is far more likely to be overcast than gloriously sunny.
This is next to one of the bridges that kids love to fish from in the summer. (Some also like to jump in from it.) Growing on the bank there are some magnificent horsetails (marestail) which is a good source of silica - good for adding to a mouthwash to strengthen your gums. (I'm sure I'll write another post on that another time.)
The next view is looking south towards US 30, which can't be seen from this picture. There are several turnings from the highway which look unassuming from the road. Most would never expect this amazing scenery to be just minutes down the road. (Hope this is now long enough for you guys, Travelfeed.)
The overhead phone lines get more than their fair share of bobbers and fishing line! (And sometimes shoes.)
