Sometimes I also like to do some street photography, although it is not so often compared to my nature photography. Most of the time, I am more comfortable taking photos of flowers, leaves, textures, and small details that I can quietly observe. Nature subjects are usually still, or at least they move slowly with the wind, so I have more time to think about the angle and composition.
Street photography feels very different. It is fun and exciting, but also a little stressful for me. Everything is moving around. People walk past so quickly, objects appear and disappear, and the moment can be gone before I even press the shutter. Unlike flowers or plants, the street does not wait for me.
To be honest, I do not really like looking at people or observing them too much. I usually stay in my own zone and mind my own thoughts. Maybe that is why I tend to photograph small things on the street instead. A handle, a crushed can, a lock, or even someone walking by can already tell a small story. These are ordinary things, but in black and white, they become more dramatic and interesting.
What I like about this kind of photography is the challenge. It pushes me outside my usual comfort zone. I may not be fully confident with it yet, but I think it is good to try something different once in a while. It reminds me that creativity is not only about doing what is familiar, but also about exploring what feels a little uncomfortable.
For now, I still love nature photography the most, but I am happy to try street photography whenever the mood comes.
Have a good day ahead.
