The art of doing nothing is the art of knowing how to wait, it is the art of knowing when and how to rest, an art that is very much in need today. Well, in this modern world where everything seems to happen at an advanced speed and where everything moves very fast, a break is necessary to regain strength and make our system work properly.
Generally what is done in modernity instead of resting is dedicating time to entertainment, which basically does not help at all since our body continues to interpret that we are moving and our body continues to function as if nothing was happening.
Rest is simply taking time to do nothing, literally do nothing and see what happens. This can be seen as meditation. Where we are only passive observers.
The importance of doing nothing is equal to that of doing something, only that it is constantly undervalued. If we don't rest properly we will not have the ability to do our work in the most effective way and our creativity and mental abilities will be at their worst level.
Rest is as important as acting, but not everyone knows how to do it.
You've tried? Be a few minutes without doing anything, try not to watch videos, not play, not listen to music, just do nothing. Don't even think. It is quite difficult and frustrating, also desperate if you are not used to it.
The art of doing nothing is the art of contemplation, of doing your job without having to perform an action, the art of doing and resting at the same time, is the art of knowing how to wait.
It is not to entertain you, it is not to spend time or waste it, it is to use it wisely by doing nothing more than nothing, and letting everything work at their own pace while you rest and recover energy for your next action.
