Being a successful entrepreneur, he told me his certificate was of no use to him, and I began to wonder, how useful has mine been to me?
Still thinking, i guess the future will tell.

My laptop hanger developed issues last week and I had to take it to computer village where Emeka the technician fixed it, billing me a whooping sum of 10,000 naira ($20) after much haggling, funny enough Emeka was no graduate yet, he was in his third year in a part time programme in Lasu, and I wondered, Emeka will be a graduate in 2 years time, equalling my educational certificate, but he already has a skill that fetches him thousands daily.

What the hell was I doing when I was in school?
After much Job hunt to no avail, I decided to get self employed, I needed a website where I will place my products for sale, thus needing the service of a Web developer/designer.

I employed the service of John, a Web designer and a confirm illiterate as well. This illiterate was a literate in tech related issues and billed me 100,000 naira ($200) to design a website for me. He was making so much money already that he had no dreams of going to school again but to develop his career and skills. Once again I thought what the hell was I doing while I was in school?

What stopped me from acquiring a skill?
I may have made the mistake of not taking notice and early advantage of the latest trend in the world (Skill acquisition / Tech inclined)
But one thing am certain of is that my kids won't make such. University/College Education immediately after high school won't be compulsory for them as I'd prefer they spend that time doing more productive things.

Nevertheless, it still remains a choice they have to make individually under proper guidance.
Courage Mulla once told me, '' we live in a tech world now, it's never too late to take a bold step''.
Learn a skill today, don't be the type that says I wish I learnt it in 2014 and this is 2017 am too old for this, the truth remains that 2020 will come, you will get older and regret not learning it in 2017 when you were younger.

Lesson: It's never to late to start your journey now
